I have, I’m sure like most of you, scoured the Internet, for hours and hours and countless freaking hours for free Wordpress themes. It is a very nice sentiment and gesture when people offer their free theme that they had put in countless hours themselves creating, along with a lot of hard effort. But sometimes this just doesn’t work. Sometimes, and not knocking anyone specific, but you get a real lack of quality with some of these free Wordpress themes. They look great but are buggy as hell, or they aren’t buggy but no matter what amount of customizing you do, you just can’t get it to look right.
I know every Wordpress blogger out there has their post of “The Best Free Wordpress Themes”. Well, I don’t, and I am sure I might at some point. But I wanted to tackle this a different way. I still have not been very pleased with a lot of free themes. Even Mimbo bugged out on me at some point. I am sick of search, I am sick of looking through hundreds of pages and templates. I would like to know which Free Themes YOU think are the best. Please don’t spam this, but give me an honest opinion. If you think there is an AWESOME free theme out there - let us know. So far, I have been VERY happy with this theme (Word Press’d). It’s very clean and coded well, and I have not come across ONE BUG thus far. I think this theme will be my contribution to the list. So now, what’s your favorite free Wordpress theme?

This is a post that I wrote over at The Blogging Blonde, that I have somehow abandoned for the time-being. I thought it appropriate to cross-post over here. Though not necessarily Wordpress-specific, it does qualify as being Wordpress-related. Well, blogging related - and Wordpress-related if you use Wordpess and all.
Entrecard, a blogging community and platform, was built with one purpose in mind, drive traffic to your blog and increase the revenue of your blog. Founded in November 2007 and launched January 1, 2008 by Graham Langdom, Entrecard has helped more than 17,000 bloggers do just that to date.
At first, reading around the Net, I found that there was much controversy and debate, about whether or not Entrecard is feasible and “worth the time” to drive traffic to your blog, as it does take work. How does it work, you ask? Well, I’m about to tell you. And then I will give you my opinions. [...]

I think it’s important to preface this whole “Are You Wordpressed?” thing with the exact “specs” I’m running. Most of these are common for any Wordpress Blog I set up, and have become quite comfortable with the plug-ins I use and the system I use.
So, without further ado, this is what I’ve got going on behind the scenes.
First off, we’ll start with theme. I was thinking what better, than to use a Wordpress-looking based theme. The theme I am using is Word Press’d by Blog2Life. For those who aren’t aware, this theme is based on what the admin/dashboard area of Wordpress looks like. Clean, simple, easy-to-use.
I am running Wordpress 2.6.1, which can be found HERE.
These are the plug-ins I have installed, and use these same ones on most every Wordpress blog I set up:
- Comment-Luv
- Popularity Contest (Also comes with the theme)
- Add-To-Any
- WP-Statpress
- Lighter Admin Drop Menus (Awesome Dashboard Plug-in. Rearranges the Dashboard for easier navigation)
- Google Sitemap Generator
- C-Forms
- WP Ajax Edit Comments (You’re welcome :P)
- Feedcount (A Feedburner plugin)
For advertising I have chosen Performancing Ads. It’s got a wonderful Interface, it’s easy-to-use and FREE! Check it out.
I will be using Feedburner for Email subscriptions, subscribe, subscribe! I have added gravatar functionality so we can see all your pretty faces when you comment. And last, but never least, I will add Entrecard, as a social-networking tool.
What do you think? Do you do things a lot different than I have done? Give me your comments.
(I will also be adding the related posts plugin. After I hunt it down.)
