- Code
- Themes
- Hacks
- Plug-ins
- How-to
- Tips
- Tricks
- And more…
Questions you may have:
What do I have to do to become a co-author?
Becoming a co-author is simple. You will create 5 original posts relating to anything Wordpress. They can be submitted, upon application approval, via email to brandi[at]areyouwordpressed[dot]com. They will be published, upon approval, with your author information as a guest author. Upon completion of 5 approved, original posts, you may opt to be a permanent co-author.
What’s In It For Me?
- Exposure. You write, people read. Plain and simple.
- The chance to show off your themes, plug-ins, hacks, custimizations, etc.
- A bio on the Author Page, once you become a permanent co-author, with a link back to your site.
- The chance to add to the Wordpress/Internet/Blogging community with your helpful content, ideas, and writings.
Do you pay me money to co-author on “Are You Wordpressed?” ?
No. Payment for writing here comes as extra exposure for you, a link to your site, and the satisfaction of adding to the community.
It doesn’t look like there is a lot of content here. Why would I want to add my content?
For exactly that reason. To add content, and gain exposure for yourself. “Are You Wordpressed?” is just starting off, and we realize that we:
- Don’t have the ability to add a whole lot of good, worthwhile content quickly, on our own.
- As stated, don’t know a lot of Wordpress ourselves. We have admitted that this is a learning process for us, and are posting as we learn. Your content will add to our current knowledge base and expand upon it.
How often do I have to write?
There are no real minimums to how often you have to write, though, the more the better. However, if you have not written in more than 30 days, your co-author access will be discontinued. But, even if your access is discontinued, all your content will still remain in tact and unchanged. Your info on the Authors Page will revert back to guest author.
Will you edit my content?
Not at all. You choose what you write and how you write it, as long as it conforms to the guidelines outlined below. The only thing we will add to your post is a little bit of bio information (before you’re added as full fledged co-author). At times, we may change the category of your posts, or the tags, if deemed more appropriate elsewhere.
So what are the rules and guidelines?
- Posts MUST be Wordpress related. If not they will not be displayed.
- Posts MUST NOT be written as a kick-back to your website or your blog. They must not contain any links to your website or blog unless it holds relevant to the post you are writing.
- Must not contain any sexually-explicit material or contain excessive foul language.
- If others comment on your content, you must do your best to keep up with the discussion where appropriate.
- Posts must be original to “Are You Wordpressed?” and must not be duplicated on your website, blog or elsewhere. Doing so will devalue the worth of your posts.
- We do NOT like plagiarism. Gathering ideas from other sources are okay, but straight up stealing content will NOT be tolerated. Sources must be sited as appropriate, and quoted content must give credit to the original author and must be displayed as quoted. NO EXCEPTIONS.
- There must not be excessive use of images, and any images used must be relevant to the post itself. They also must not be excessively large and/or effect or disrupt the look and feel of the website.
So, I think I might be interested in becoming a guest or co-author. What do I do?
Fill out the form below, adding the following:
- Your intent to write here, and whether you would simply like to be a guest author or aim to become a co-author.
- A brief description of your writing style.
- What you think you will write the most about.
- A link to your site so I can check out the kinds of things you’ve already written about.
